President Barack Obama said Saturday that the GOP stance on a small business lending bill is proof the country "can't afford the do-nothing policies and partisan maneuvering that will only take us backward." (July 31)

@quizerry Hey - I predict China goes belly up in the not to distant future. The only thing keeping them afloat is stimulus, and massive amounts of loans being pushed out into the economy. I saw a report the other day that said their banks were in trouble. They're taking after us, they've got some kind of scam going on. I can't remember all the details, but they said a shit-load of those loans won't be paid back. And it's hard to grow their economy on what little they make. Ka-boom is a coming.

@quizerry The way I see it, what good are cheap products if nobody has money to buy them. And to be honest with ya, they're not that cheap. They're selling us garbage for the same price it was here. Here the products were top of the line. You see all the garbage we're getting? Poison drugs. Sheetrock that rots yur plumbing. They had to tear all that stuff out of newly built homes. I bought 2 pairs of Wolverine boots for the same $120 a pop, and the soles split in half in a month. Defect rubber.

@quizerry We may have increased exports, but I think you know how big the trade deficit is. Trade has to be on a level playing field for it to work. And I can see these companies wanting to do business there and build China's economy, but you don't have to make all of the products we buy in the U.S. over there. They're greedy. I was reading something about the NAFTA contract (which is up) that says for so many years it'll be tariff free. They need to make some changes or we're finished.

@HemiHead66 China is a developing nation still and are much better off today then just 10 years ago. They still have a long way to go. Chinese imports allow Americans to stretch their paychecks further, raising real wages for millions of workers especially helpful to the poor and middle class. U.S. exports to China have increased 170% over the past ten years. If we opened up more free trade to China and the world we could be exporting vast more products and commodities.

@HemiHead66 True but in order to be competitive in a global market you can't penalize businesses. Corporate tax is just one of many tax burden business has. Just as it is for employees. Look at the amount of taxes we all pay and look what our Government has done with those hard earned dollars. They have let the people down. Government is so big and corrupt they no longer work for the people. It is time to fire all of them. It is time to cut spending, cut taxes and cut wasteful programs.

@quizerry You see all the accidents happening in China? Coal mines blowing up left and right? Toxic chemicals spilling into the water? Oil tanks blowing up? Companies do as they please over there. You think that's the way we should operate? What about wages, you think we should have to work for 40 bucks a week? What about healthcare, adopt China's shit healthcare?
