Part 1 of 4.
As we traveled through the communities in Western Ghana, we learned first hand about the core concept of abject poverty. We listened to the voices of the people as they described their struggle to access safe water, sanitation, food, housing and basic health services. This is the learning experience that extends beyond the classroom setting and enriches one's understanding about the tragic lives of the bottom billion in the world today. Watch as we, 11 university students, enthusiastically share two things with you: how this experience has given us a profound understanding of the plight of the poor in developing countries, and how small investments can make a significant difference in the lives of so many.
