Consider registering as a volunteer at http://www.researchmatch.org, or visit the ClinicalTrials.gov website to get involved at http://clinicaltrials.gov

The health of millions has been improved because of those who have volunteered their time to take part in research studies.

Research touches everyone.

Research is a way to discover knowledge that can have a positive impact on the health of society. Most research studies need a certain number of people to participate in order to find the right answer. Because there are often too few volunteers to join, many of these studies end early.

Often there are misconceptions about what is involved in being part of a research study. Some people do not realize that there is a wide variety of studies in which one may be eligible to participate. Some studies involve nothing more than answering a survey. Some studies are looking for healthy volunteers to follow over a period of time. Some studies are testing a new alternative method of treating a condition or a new technology for measuring results. There are also studies that test new medications and procedures.
