For a complete lesson on mixture problems, go to http://www.yourteacher.com - 1000+ online math lessons featuring a personal math teacher inside every lesson! In this lesson, students learn to solve "mixture" word problems -- for example, adding two acid solutions together, or adding water to a sugar solution. Students then set up a chart based on the mixture formula, which states that the amount of solution times the percent of acid = amount of acid (or the amount of solution times the percent of sugar = amount of sugar). The chart is then used to set up the equation.

  • @midajane GEOMETRY is harder

  • He is just like my teacher. Starting off with the graph doesn't help me. I haven't a clue as to where to put things in the first place. If I did...I could do the problem.

  • God this is soo confusing!! My test is tomorrow it's worth 150 points!!!! Iam on the verge of failing

  • @mercenarystagehand i love you

  • fucker didnt even show how he got x=75 -______-

  • thanks for the help!

  • ok from where he left off-

    .3x + .18(300 - x)=63 multiply by 100 to get rid of decimals for:

    30x + 18(300-x) = 6300 then multiply for :

    30x + 5400 - 18x =6300 then subtract for:

    12x + 5400 = 6300 then subtract 5400 on both sides for :

    12x = 900 then divide both sides by 12 to get :

    x=75 :-)

  • @Endure28 252(.30)*

  • why would you do 300-x instead of y??????? pickleman 123416

  • it would help if he did each step instead of just saying x=75 because I don't know how he got the 75
