  • Thanks a million to Evanarchi,

It's not easy to listen to this song

  • I love Topas so much~

Thanks for sharing these great songs~

  • i love song

  • the past is Science Fiction- in der jetzigen Zeit- unmöglich solch Qualität zu erzeugen!

  • Hat den jemals irgendjemand diese Band in einem Video oder Live gesehen? Würd echt gerne mal bewegliche Bilder von der Gruppe sehen.

  • I remembered that my older brother had a friend who had the LP - many years later I was able to get in on CD - in deed, memory lane!

  • thank you for a trip down the memory lane.

here's what i found out about topas on the net, written by someone named communique,

Topas was a German project, released their first and only album in 1980 and played AOR melodic rock with some more than decent tunes. At least two of their songs are still well-known and appear on various hit compilations: "Hurricane" and "Train to an Island", although they never saw the light of any charts at the time, when they came out.

  • Lots of musicians took part in the recordings, which were made in the Europasound Studios of pop producer legend Frank Farian in Offenbach; for example Michael Cretu (later of Enigma fame), Christian Kolonovits and Johan Daansen. Apart from the common rock equipment you can hear instruments like oboe, flutes, tuba, bouzouki and accordion on this fine record.

When they failed to succeed, Topas broke up very fast. Their songwriter and lead singer Diether Brandt committed suicide in 1991.

  • Erinnert mich total an den Sommer 1981, ist ja gerade mal 28 Jahre her..... ganz tolle LP. Schade, daß Topas es nie weiter gebracht hat.

  • It's very nince of you to load such great music. It will be even better if you could upload more of TOPAS's
