Amy Winehouse, "I Cheated Myself," Wake Up Call Mix (Belgrade 2011)

The sadness this young lady feels deep inside over what she's doing to herself is obvious from watching this highlight clip from the now notorious Winehouse Belgrade Meltdown. Rocket Calcutta has chosen what was to him the most telling moment of the whole concert and featured it in this unique mix and edit. As Amy prepares to sing the words "I cheated myself" it seems evident in her face that she knows she's done exactly that. The moment is captured at 1:03 and then repeated in close up at 1:54

If there's any good that can come from all this it's that this event will act as a wake up call: not only to Amy but to all young people like her, who have so much potential and yet sabotage themselves through their poisonous participation in addiction. Heroin is no easy drug to kick but this is what Amy needs to do in order to get back on top.

Amy obviously knew she was tottering on the brink here! The pain and sadness in her eyes is now haunting me more than ever. Such incredible music came from this young girl: why does music and drug abuse so often go hand in hand! I am so glad that I cleaned up my act so many years ago. Natural highs are so much less costly in every way...

@YTCitizen Her behavior reveals quite a heavy heroin addiction, YTC. This is the most addictive of drugs judging from the people who I have seen it plague. It is so very hard to kick, it seems that poor Amy was struggling to and lost the struggle...

@LoleattaGirl I disagree. The paragraph @rocketcalcuttaTV put under the video describes it. If there can be anything good to come from the death of such a young person, it is that Ms. Winehouse's death can be used as a teaching tool for our youth to hopefully stop another talented young individual from following the same path of drugs and alcohol. I think the human spirit within the addict would appreciate this and applaud it.

I feel sorry for Amy W., I don't know her full story but I don't even need to to understand how much pain she's in. Just by seeing this video.. very horrible, no one should feel that sort of pain.
