what size of strings you are using?

@Jakfrost944 Spector makes a "shorty" bass that's just a hair over 30"...that's probably what the bass in this video is.
-
Are you sure this bass is a piccolo ? It looks like a tenor to me ...The one that Stanley Clarke uses...

What is the scale length of this bass? Can you tune a 34" scale up the octave with piccolo strings? I've heard you can't without a slightly shorter scale.

@Sambou96 The first four strings on a guitar EADG are actually an octave higher than a bass guitar. And a piccolo bass is also an octave higher than a normal bass. So essentially it is the same as the first four strings of a guitar, but you know, just bigger guage strings, wide string spacing, and just that sexy bass guitar timbre.

A Piccolo bass is actually an octave lower than guitar, and an octave above a normal bass, and there are things you can't do on a guitar, such as slap, because of the tiny string spacing. The scale of the neck also affects the tone massively, piccolo bass is a totally different instrument to guitar.

Wow

This is amazing. It fills the groove slot but also clearly takes the lead with this song.

He plays the bass like it is a legitimate instrument, hat's off to him.
hello?! you guys are THE foundation of the band. Us guitarists would sound thin without you guys!

Piccolo basses just overcome the idea of the bass being "unversatile". You get the sound of a guitar, but the versatility of playing many other different styles. I'm not dissing the guitarists or the guitar, it's just that bass>guitar.
