  • OH WOW. Beam me up Scottie! I wouldn't get any work done if I lived out there. I could look at this stuff for days. I am in the wrong line of work. Completely awesome.

  • I think if the 4th grade we had a small Derecho event in the Tacoma area in WA state.....80 mph winds and the trees lost a lot of branches....never forgot it. Lost power, school locked down. and there was debris everywhere.

We think we can control nature, but in reality nature controls us in the long term!

Holy. Shit. I remember every second of that day like it just happened. Our power went off for a week, and a block over at my aunts house, her street was the only section of stl that had electricity. I was at a park and the sirens went off, sky was unbelieveably greenish gray, and the sunset was pitch orange a little later. And yah the field lights were swaying also. I could go on, but I don't feel like it. Worst storm of my life besides the 2001 hail/tornado storm...

  • @Furanshisuu A derecho is a very long line of very strong winds, that can form along a big cluster of thunderstorms: they can travel amazingly fast, and damage can be severe...

  • Just wondering.. What is a derecho? Sorry, I haven't seen things like tornadoes and stuff in person.
