Excavate :: socialmediagroup :: Stone Quary Art Park 2006

This artwork and performance is a demonstration of possibilities in creating educational art works that are temporary, interactive and variously change over a given period of time. We are interested in the interactions of social organizations (bodies), ecological systems and electronic media. We are concerned with how these various elements converge in order to create specific (in terms of time and place) situations for observation, discussion and analysis. We see artwork less as an aesthetic object (although this can be used to draw a viewer or participant in) and more as a micro-model that draws attention to the interactions of the everyday.
