@corg22 He's also pretty famous for playing a Rickenbacker as was Lennon. That's what most people refer to as the bright Rick/Beatles sound.
But then again, I have one and don't really play any beatles.

Don't be discouraged mate, practice make perfect however I would recommend buying a new guitar if you're serious about playing mate, I disagree with Dratini, it sounds awful. You said you're getting a LP soon though so I guess you're on it ;).
Keep at it mate, forget them, you obviously do it because you enjoy it, what else matters?

its a squier affinity strat. this was filmed 2 1/2 years ago, when it was still in good shape. that guitars about on its last leg now. the humbucker is literally faling off. im getting a gibson les paul studio pretty soon
