This is considered to be the first release of this song, but the original vocalist, Huey "Piano" Smith - who also wrote the song - was removed from the track by the record company and the Frankie Ford vocal was recorded over the same instruments.
Smith later re-recorded under a different label - that version is also here - search on 'Huey "Piano" Smith Sea Cruise'. The instrument track is the same, but with a R&B harmony rather than a rock vocal. Also the foghorns and ship sounds are absent.

Must've heard this at least 2000 times and I NEVER get tired of it! REAL rock 'n' roll! I used this as my theme song on WUNH - Durham, N.H. 1988-92 and still play it at times on my WEGL - Auburn, Ala. radio show. I can also play my own version of it on the piano. "Ooh wee, Baby" for sure!
