@colethegomery Just a raw diode with power supply. Nothing fancy. Just stuff I cobbled together. Really worthless and dangerous. More of a serious hazard to vision than big lasers, because it can be pointed in any direction at will. Unexpected reflections can send the beam back in the direction it came from, resulting in a very serious and permanent eye injury.

@magx1 Its suitable for anyone who isnt completely retarded enough to put it to their eyes....

magx1 have you ever thought about using a laser beam to trigger a current flow between the two terminals of your Bonetti machine? I think you would need to space the two terminals apart just enough so a spark can't jump. Then line the laser beam up with both of them so its VERY close but not touching. My theory is that a strong enough laser beam might be able to break down the resistance of the air enough for a current to flow along it.

@FireBirdsGo
This can be done, but it would require a pulsed laser with high enough peak power.

I have a 200 MW Green laser, And it can BARELY do that :P it is at least 200 MW

The difference is that this laser has an adjustable focus. It will only pop balloons, burn, or light matches when tightly focused onto a target. I have no idea what the output is.
200mW laser, and it struggles to do this? Your kidding?! I would have thought 200mW would be more than enough. Are you sure this is 200mW? Or is it possible that some of the other folks doing stuff like this have more wattage then they realize?
Once again, the biggest factor with my laser is the focus.

This laser is very dangerous, and can result in permanent blindness. Truly high powered lasers are safer, in a sense. They often operate at so called 'eye-safe' wavelengths, or produce brief pulses as opposed to a continuous output. So the laser in this video is the WORST kind to mess with. It's a serious hazard, and does not make a suitable toy for anyone, at any age.
