LBP2 Beta Level: AssistBot

This is just a little Tech Demo. The AssistBot, a flying, armed drone, will follow you everywhere. It avoids collisions with walls whenever possible. The pathfinding is only basic, but works in most simple environments.

As soon as any object or sackbot marked as "enemy" (simply stick a tag to them) comes within range, the AssistBot will target it and open fire. It does, however, stop firing as long as you cross its line of sight, to prevent damaging its master.

The AssistBot can be set to hold position or follow with a simple grab whenever you want. I plan on adding additional features as well as a more advanced pathfinding, but this will probably happen after the official release of LBP2.

Did you already try using a "score giver"? :) Just attach one to the bot, set it to 10 points and wire it to the death mechanism of the bot.

This is a pretty simple level. It may seems complicated but it's really simple. This is really a good level .

If a sackbot could pick up a jetpack, That would be cool. Since what if you needed to control one on the other side of a wall that has to go high in order to pull a switch that will let you through.

You could replicate the jetpack movement by sticking a couple of movers to the Sackbot. Just add decorations that look like a jetpack, and add one or two smoke emitters, and you're done :)

wow the creator of that hover droid/assist bot is awsome im in the middle of making my own and i have but one problem...how do you get it to not go write in your face withot disabling the up and down option on the follower

Jusr did the same thing today but it looks more like the cores from portal. I also plan on mine having rockets and lightning or lasers
