Ulver - Stone Angels

Ulver (Norwegian for "wolves") is a multi-disciplinary musical quartet from Oslo, Norway and now, London, England. The band was formed by Kristoffer "Garm" Rygg in 1993, and their current members are Rygg (vocal, programming), Jørn H. Sværen (misc.), Tore Ylwizaker (programming, piano) and latest member Daniel O'Sullivan (guitar, piano, various). Since their first folk metal/black metal release in 1993, Ulver's style has ever been changing by combining elements of experimental, electronic and ambient music, avant-garde, rock, trip-hop, and their own genre-defying innovations.

I really like this band.Their music is great although difficult to define the genre. It does not fit in any classification....

A couple weeks ago, someone asked me: "What genre is that band you listen to?". I stopped to think, is it black metal? industrial? avant-garde? folk metal? After a few hours, the other guy got tired of waiting and left.

Ulver is damn good since day 1.

My music taste goes from accoustic music to raw black metal and there between everything and nothing.

Yeah Death Metal i only like Behemoth and maybe Fleshgod Apocalypse, Decapited. More in to german black metal like Farsot, Thorngoth.

@Themgoroth616 Nevermind. I looked at your music selection. Death Metal, i see. I've been singing death metal for almost 20 years now. I have met, hung out and played with some of those favorite bands of yours. I grew out of the "brutal death metal or nothing!" phase 10 years ago. My band is heavy as fuck, but my favorite band will always be Ulver. Does that make me "gay"?

@Themgoroth616 Are you serious? Ulver composes their music with many REAL instruments along side synth, using skilled musicians. It's called COMPOSING. You know, like what Mozart used to do? This is more talent than most music you hear today. You would have to be deaf or just stupid to say their music takes no skill.
