@kgaccount after 379 days before your son has autism what date in April 1990 his diagnosed with severe autism?

i love how he laughed when you say your all mixed up :)

Have you tried a neoprene vest? It's like someone giving you a tight squeeze. I made one at my school and now I'm just waiting to get it (Cause we're on a break right now)

That's because there "autism spectrum" has morphed into something beyond autism...it now includes non autistics, there is high functioning moderate and severe to profound autism....Even the highest functioning autistics are still autistic. The spectrum has become a scam operation and I'm tired of it. It is a false face of autism. Too many kids and teen mislabeled with autism. It's out of control. Creating chaos, division and hurting families who really have autistic children.

it seems that it realy does wonders for him, he probebly likes a bubble or a snoozle bath too.
He can't ask for a better mom.

Yep, people don't always get it....that's why I post videos of and try (I stress TRY) to bring my autistic son out as much as possible into the community so people won't have this naive view of what real autism looks like..I've seen a lot of kids labeled autistic who are clearly NOT autistic...blessings to you and your sis' kid...I bet U are a super uncle! And I found your comment funny, by the way. I wasn't offended. I'm not easily offended..can't be when you live with autism
My son can't go anywhere. He is out of control in the community. If he were in that Brookstone he would be grabbing on to everything and want to walk out with everything. BIG HUGE screaming, kicking match. Not good with his size.
But I am really and sincerely happy that you can take your son to the store.
He looks really calm with his new toy.

I'm sorry Letty, I know that must be so hard...trust me, it's not everyday we can bring Jamey anywhere...I had two other people helping me that day, in case he had a self abusive meltdown or seizure activity....I try to capture the good and the not so nice to look at about our lives...in your case Letty, you need more helpers for sure. And controlled settings tailored for steven....I'm sure you already know this..aaah, if we only had more money so we didn't have to rely on bureacrats

Here is a quick Stephen story~had to drive to the O.C. to pick up Stephen from school (on a Friday) Husband works in LA wanted to meet up for a quick bite. Decided last min to in a hotel for the night. GIRL I had to walk thru a mall to get to the desk to check in. I am by myself. Stephen saw a Barns & Noble and Stephen walked in. He grabbed $100 worth of picture books. (continue...)

I totally get it....you have an incredible challenge to deal with and deserve all the help, love and support you can get...I wish you many many blessings and helpers....and that Stephen will be easier to handle so you can get some respite and have some darn FUN! You need a 1:1 aide for him when you are out!!! Darn it.most people just don't get it who work in the government either....they make you sit through 135 meetings before you get one ounce of help or support.
