I've often wondered how to set up a green screen studio. I got the opportunity to play around with my friend Ken's green screen studio while on vacation recently. Here is what I learned on how to set up a green screen studio.

  • Great tips Jeremy - also found you need some distance off the green screen - that and lighting makes big difference - thanks for sharing more great info

  • @cyndeehaydon you are right. You need a good distance to prevent really bad shadows. So, if you are trying to do green screens in a small room, you may run into issues.

  • Thanks for sharing this (im from VTA) -- but how do you actually set up the green screen or the other colors which I would prefer!! (pink or blue!)

    Thanks!

  • @ninavucetic A lot of that is going to be dependent on the type of hardware you buy to hold your screen. Some have stands, others just tack it onto a wall.

  • @RebeccaHappy gotcha. Well, at least we connected!

  • @210consulting I see...ya it is a forum for students only so not really a shame. It just respects the TOS and objectives of the group and owner.

  • @RebeccaHappy I was removed from the group. I am not a VTA client. I had heard about the group on a recent webinar & requested to join. I was let into it. But, someone didn't want me in there I guess. Which is a real shame since I could really add some value into the group.

  • @210consulting I am setting up an area in front of a white wall in an office in my house. I have some good lights too...we will see. I figure if I can get my kids to play around with it first they can then teach me..:-) How come your removed this from the VTA group? when I finally got to it, it was gone?

  • @RebeccaHappy For my type of business, green screens don't really fit in. Also, it's really difficult to do them & make them look good. I prefer using an office setting that looks more natural. I've got a screen which I use from time to time, but it is a black/white screen.

  • I just picked up a green screen but have yet to give it a try. I would need a little more detail on the lighting bit. We have some good lights but again...need to try it all out. Not sure why you would not want to use it..
