Best in Full Screen. Just barley managed to catch this one doing a fly by today. This is a version of the C-130 that has the ability to do mid-air refueling. This Lockheed Martin KC-130 has what appears to be 4 external fuel tanks, in fact the 2 inboard tanks under the wings are for fuel, the 2 pods outside of the engines are the re-fueling pods. They will trail out long hoses with devices that attach to an other trailing aircraft and attach to external re-fueling booms on them. This version of the C-130 re-fueler does not us a boom that required an operator inside the C-130 to guide the re-fueling boom onto the other aircraft. The long hoses just trail out and the aircraft being re-fueled just comes up into position and locks onto the end of the hose.
