I use to surf\Boogie board this spot almost daily, whether there were waves or not. SBL baby! Only a hand full of guys were truely SBL. Ethan, Thomas (RIP) Taylo, JJ, Billy, Nado and Frank and my self Chuck, We were the crew back in the 80s. SBL,WSR, Blacklist baby!!! And even back them some called it the Sand Spit.

marcsandor, you mentioned New Jersey with all the drop ins. This winter has been the worst. Alot of people will drop in on you in San Diego and claim they don't see you. However, they don't kick out and you end up straightening out and miss your wave. But if you even accidently drop in on someone you are threatened with violence. There has been lots of surf lately but unfortunately the vibe in the water is more like a crowded southern California freeway. No etiquette whatsoever.

if anyone thinks that that is a bad drop in... try surfing anywhere in New Jersey on any day... if you are lucky, you will get one wave to yourself per day.
