I went all over the game's world and this is, by far, the easiest and fastest way to level up and gain ABP. I'm mainly after not leveling, but mastering the jobs. First, have either a summoner with Titan, or a black mage with access to fire3, ice3, or bolt3, optionally asper and bio. Second, make sure two characters have either summon or black magic support and have these characters have the "winged shoes" item. Of great use is the "Hairpiece", which cuts MP usage by half. Third, and lastly, have either a thief in the party or the "caution" ability equipped to someone (not the magic users though the thief could be a magic user). By using the winged shoes on only the magic users, you will always get first strike and have the ability to destroy all enemies before they can act. If MP is running low, use asper. Asper seems to work better when the enemy is a frog or weak (low HP). The frog has the highest success rate. Do not use it on "iron dress" as this enemy has no MP at all. If you have a bard, you may want to look into using the MP song (untested). If you don't have a way to restore MP outside ethers, or you ran out before you could use asper, you may want to consider, instead, going into the sub and resting in the lowest level. To save, enter the cave at the other side or surface and dock on the outlet. Doing this gives you about 950 EXP and 4.4 ABP on average and each battle lasts about 45 seconds, unless you're trying to use asper. In an hour, you can get about 350 ABP and 76,500 EXP. To get the items and asper, go to the town of Mirage, found in the southernmost area in a small forest - walk around in the forest a bit.

  • I always try to beat iron titans in the rift, in the castle. The give you 2500 or 5000 exp to your whole party and if u have exp. up ability (playing GBA version now cause SNES does not work) u get even more exps :3

  • There is no EXP+ ability in my version - the PS1 version (from FF Anthology).

  • @ulillillia I did not try bards et, but I heard that bard has song that ups exp too, dunno.

  • From what I've seen, the bard seems to have no effect on anything. I also never saw anything for gaining extra EXP.

  • I like to train in the final area, there are some enemies called "mover" on the last screen that give massive ABP. You get for a group of 3 199 ABP and 150000 gil. It´s AMAZING!!

  • Once you get the second world and have the submarine, much earlier than that, the place covered in this video is the best. The key to good leveling grounds is being easy, fast, and early, in order of high to low priority.

  • your voice is funny hehehe. good review though.

  • its been a LONG time since I played this game and was thinking of playing the GBA version, am I remembering correctly that in this game the enemies get stronger when you do, in other words the game is actually HARDER when your level 99 vs say level 40?

  • @ulillillia i did evreything but bio kills only two please help

  • @ulillillia when your at world 3 go to the top left corner of the map go to boat fight sea devils and big butterflys you get 13 ability points [i have mime it takes 999 ap now im at 714 its fast]

  • Your'e missing a class. It's called Mimic. You get it by going to the water tower that is underwater,go through the whole temple in 7 minutes, and then fight a boss that requires you to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for 4 minutes.but then you have to go back out the temple the way you came in.see RPG Classic's information on this.

  • @LanesAccount haters gonna hate...

  • @ulillillia the GBA version gives you extra jobs at the end. One of them lets you get EXP faster and another lets you get AP faster

  • @ulillillia Exp Up is GBA-only. You get this ability by leveling up the Cannoneer Job to Level 2.

  • dude ur missing alot of jobs u need to go get em

  • There are two places you can auto train. Near the end at a place called 'the N-zone' and also the desert place where you fight the Antilion boss. If you all the characters have berserk ability on then try to climb a sand dune and you fall down again. So you need to set up a controller with the up and 'x' button held down. If you put on one as a bare (freelance) or mime then passive abilities such as dash and the like are also equipped on the bare for free as long as you have mastered the job
