  • how much of it broke?

  • @remotecontrolaholic

Just the tail boom, one of the skids and plastic frame halves, the main shaft, flybar, and spindle. The blades were fine as they were rotating very slow when the heli hit.

  • I thought inverted autos could only be done on smooth ground not grass. The heli was doomed right from the start.

  • Inverted autos can be landed on grass, but you need to slow down the forward speed after flipping to upright to prevent the skids from digging in and flipping the heli over.

  • Thanks for the complement on my flying but I have to take full credit for trying the maneuver. I went out that day planning on trying it for the first time, even though I should have waited for better weather conditions. My buddy who did the filming is also an RC heli pilot (a good one) and we like to egg each other on. But hey, if the crash was going to happen anyway the most important thing is to get video! I still watch it and laugh too.

  • My friend actually made the video. The crash was simply due to me trying something in conditions that were beyond my ability. It's all in good fun!

  • Step 4. make buddy split cost of repairs. lol Nice landing despite of the end result.

  • as soon as i saw the approach angle i new that the crash would be based on this simple mistake. U always want to see the bottom/ slightly nose high when doing autos. this creats the proper disk angle and forces u to use more collective for energy management instead of the elevator.

you auto is called the tuck of death. this will always get u if the nose is low.

  • Ran out of headspeed a bit huh?Looked like a pretty soft crash compared to many i've seen..Just lost my 450 to a blade strike today : (.

  • @flyfalcons those were nice autos it was was unfortunate bout the crash but keep up the good flying.

  • haha that was funny

  • Skills!! lol.

  • Yeah yeah yeah....... always blame the others..... lol

  • Remember children, always idle-up before attempting inverted flight :-)

Sorry to see the heli crash
