Meet Me In Da Club! Christians Clubbing (Answer)

When I first got your book a couple years ago, it sparked me to follow your ministry and learn what God had given you to share. I have had this question for a couple weeks now and I just didn't want it to be taken the wrong way, but it keeps popping in my mind and I have to ask. In your book, you talked about how God removed you from the clubs and had you stop listening to all that music, on New Year's you were advertising a party at a club and even though they would be playing "Gospel Hip Hop" and all that kind of stuff, I have a question isn't that the sme as returning to the clubs? You have different music but the scene is still the same, there is dancing and all that other stuff, maybe without the drinking and smoking, but isn't it pretty much the same? I myself don't listen to all that stuff because it doesn't work for me and after hearing the truth behind hip hop from ex-ministries, I definitely wasn't trying to hear it no more. I don't get how God got any glory out of it, was there an altar call, some real worship going on, somebody get saved and filled with the Holy Ghost? I'm just trying to understand how God cleans us up and instead of leaving the clubs altogether, we go back just because they changed the music a little bit, but it all pretty much still sounds the same?

Carnal and spiritual just dont mix- no matter how you put it. I am 29 and have been in the church all of my life and have been taught the undoctored Word of God. There is no possible way that you can "go clubbing" listen to songs that are in the world, songs mentioning liquor, drugs, violence, fornication, and dancing in a suggestive mannor and say its okay for Christians to do that.

In Romans 12:2 says "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Christian clubbing is still a form of worldiness. You can't slap Jesus on a club. It came from the devil. Where suppose to be set apart from worldy ways. Christian parties are ok but CLUB? LOL! You can't reinvent the wheel of what God says in His word. You can't make worldy things HOLY christians! Come on now!

I don't understand why folks just don't get it. When you're young and saved, what are your options of good, clean fun? It's hard to find good, clean fun nowadays. I think Christian Clubbing is a good opportunity for young folk. Nothing negative or inappropriate comes out of it. So what's the big deal? Because it looks like the "World"? That's not a good enough argument. It doesn't look like the World. The World wouldn't go to a Christian Club...so you're point is?

The Idea of having a place where only Gospel music is played and people are dancing to it seems like an excellent Idea... The problem comes in with what people associate the word club with. It's just like Hip-Hop: people associate Hip-Hop music as wrong because people started it off with sinful lyrics. How we are so easy to forget out Gospel music came about. It was derived from Blues and Jazz music. What made it Holy was the Word of God put into it. That's when we started calling it Gospelmusic

The word of God tells us to not let our 'good' be evil spoken of. So if we are to not be conformed the world (LOOK like them), then we need not to let the world think we're like them.
