However, as we learn more and more about the universe those gaps become smaller and smaller, and as such there is less and less for which God can be credited for. As for God helping you in your life: that's great. Whatever helps you to get through life. However I would point out that religion has made people's lives a misery for thousands of years, and that doing somethng "for God" has served to oppress and destroy since it's establishment. Better to believe in yourself than a fairytale.

@AlmostHelpless The big bang thory is no longer accepted as the main theory as to how the universe came to be, so you cannot use that as an example. You are correct that scientists do not know how the universe was formed, but think back to when we knew so much less. How do plants grow? God did it. How do things fall? God did it. Just because you provide an answer doesn't mean it is correct, This is known as the "God of the Gaps" theory, where humans use God to explain what they don't understand.

@AlmostHelpless What a bunch of crap. Your "Devil" is a Pagan God bastardised by Christianity when it took over Rome. And don't talk about Free Will because it doesn't fit in with your God. You argue we have choice, but you also argue that God knows everything. This means that God knows what we will choose to do, and if this is the case (our choice already predestined) then we cannot use our free will to choose otherwise since God cannot be wrong.
