From Episode 1090, uploaded by request: So far, the flight to Hawaii has upset a few of the gang: Oscar complains about the in-flight movie, and Big Bird annoys Maria with his talk about Snuffy missing the plane. Maria manages to distract Big Bird with a pair of headphones; he falls asleep to an easy-listening version of the Sesame Street theme.

This may sound like a strange question, but why did they go to Hawaii in the first place??

They went because Buffy (a cast member at the time) had family in the area, and wanted to celebrate her son's first birthday with them.

Gotta love Sesame. Funny on a lot of different levels:

1.) Big Bird using the old phrase

2.) Big Bird and Maria having "a song"

3.) Big Bird knowing his street even had a theme song

That end music is really beautiful, it made my heart hurt. The shot of the plane going over the sun is beautiful as well.
