ok this vid was made largely by memory on an impulse and has some imprecisions and mistakes.
corrections:
--the EEC formed a new, wider institutional frame that incorporated the ESCS. the EU formed an even wider one that included both the ESCS and the EEC. it was all done by small steps.
--the EEC did NOT mean free movement of ALL goods, services and people. thats the Single Market + Schengen and was accomplished by steps.
--the relation between the Monetary Union/Euro and the Washington Consensus is FAR more complex than what is suggested in the vdeo. but im no economist. Castells describes it pretty well in his "End of the Millenium" (chapter about the EU)
--the EU Court does now have jurisdiction in the third pillar, but only with the aquiescense of the states involved.

  • I hope greece collapses and soon,,,, then followed by Italy spain and portuagal,,, when this happens Europe will be finished and we can stop being dictated to by a bunch of socialist left wing wankers

  • its a fucking expensive pain in britans arse thats what it is!

  • Pro-democracy that's what we are!

  • @madbcc I get some of my information from Open Europe which in turn gets and translates into English articles from EU wide newspapers. If the articles are wrong I see no rebuttals coming forth from the Commission or elsewhere in the grand fraud.

If the EU is so amazing why haven't any other countries with trade agreements followed suit? Perhaps they wish to remain soverign nations with no one else involved in how they make their natonal decissions.

  • yes of course. where do U get ur info is what i would like to know. lol. freedom of information has been at force since at least 92.

the problem of the disconnection of the general population is in fact a real one. ppl dont know dont understand dont get and therefore translate their internal 8national, regional whatever, personal) frustrations into the EU. if u want to discuss that we can.

yes its getting better, always. just cause u dont like it doesnt mean its not amazing :)

  • 600. yes a force to be reckoned w man grab ur guns and go fight for ur rights!! u see u know so why are u bitching i dont get it

  • dude these are ur heads of state........... all the documents are public. if ur so concerned join some civil group related w these matters im sure there are plenty.

and again if u dont trust ur government man what can i say fight for ur rights dont take it out on us...

  • edf rapid response................. lol dude. u urself said it and we all know it: without nato and the us bthere is n.o.t.h.i.n.g. now if we want to change that situation is another matter which would demand a rethinking of all our geostartegic stands and policies.

goods and ppl. remeber the uk is the freak. and anyway drugs, guns, human trafiking...the list goes on.

cause u need ur rights related to eu activity and etc to be protected

  • They have even been told to be careful about what they write in emails and advised to meet if a subject is contentious.freedom of information scares them. They haven't gained the trust of the majority and that is reflected in their dealings. I didn't start open and transparent and isn't getting any better and it's been about in it's various guises for some time.
