  • Memories for me also. I was AC In VP741 out of NAS JAX in the 60's.

  • Cool video, my dad just got back from his VP-16 reunion in pensacola, he flew out of jacksonville Fla. He told me the story about the MAD men radar guys. They had to fly about 50 feet over the water......cool !

  • the music (sic) sux

  • Wow, I'm sorry I missed your posting. Nine months... time flies, wow. They probably didn't know each other though, but a great thought. My dad flew from Cecil Field, just south of Jacksonville. I thinkthat's closed now. The museum up in Pensacola has two P2Vs: displayed. One's the famous Truculent Turtle.

  • Awesome video , but please ditch the music and let us enjoy the sights and sounds of what chatter was going on....

  • I have about 1300 hours in P2V-7S (SP2H) BuNo 135580 in the 60's in the old VP-17 based at Whidbey Island, WA. Been everywhere from Kodiak AK to Bankok, Thailand at 180 kts true. Video brought back memories also. The view from the clear nose was outstanding, especially when on patrol below 1000'.

  • my dad flew with VP-839 out of NAS New York (Floyd Bennett Field in the early '60's also in a P2V-5F (SP2E)
