This is a very intimate setting. Having seen this lineup more than a few times, I can tell you this was a rare moment. Erik has a brief solo that leads to Charlie using a soft mallet to play the bass drum and Simon is playing with sticks on the hardwood floor of Preservation Hall. This was recorded on May 6th, 2007 at Preservation Hall. Sorry about cutting it off at the end my camera ran out of space, there is a really beautiful ending Erik does there, but anyways, Enjoy!

  • whoa, erik rock the soul in here

  • There's no doubt that Charlie is a masterful guitarist. However, I have been more blown away by his tambourine playing.

Does anybody have any footage of him playing the tambourine? He does it every once in a while at his shows and it's truly astounding.

  • i am so glad this was recorded. i have seen the trio many times, this was something unique indeed. many thanks.

  • Most of it sounds very tonal. bluesy with some extra notes here and there to taste.

  • the beginning piano part was the most atonal, strange stuff i've heard in a while! Intriguing.
