@clocktwo2000 From my perspective it seems to be about a woman who's been hurt deeply by a failed relationship. She wants someone who can't hurt her, a coin-operated boy, someone incapable of hurting her. A relationship with no risks to be taken, and no pain to be felt.

Interesting to read other people's interpretations of this song. It seems pretty clear to me that Amanda is singing from the point of view of a girl (probably a fictionalized version of herself) who has caused just as much heartbreak as she has received, and that the song is about a conflict between a longing for intimacy and a fear of commitment. That's the point of the central image: the singer is lying to herself that a synthetic (i.e. zero risk) lover will give her all she wants.

You know, of I struggle really hard to see it as something besides a dildo, I see a girl making up her own fantasy boy to love after her significant other hurt her, but she's secretly begging for him to take her back. So this song is either really sweet or really funny. xD I love it so much.

@shadowrouge100 Forever and always <3
I like this song, but it's a shame that the stigma in society is that the boy always hurts the girl. This song has no statement on that; she was just personally hurt. But so many songs like this perpetuate that stigma, and it's a shame because the result of such a stigma is that guys stop being treated as though they get hurt by relationships.
Just want to say we get hurt too. I want a coin-operated girl.
