I know it's slow, and a big downgrade from my last car, so don't give me a hard time about it haha. I just wanted to share this for anyone out there who is curious about the performance of the 8th generation Accord with the 4-cylinder engine and automatic transmission. This is the 190HP EX version which has a more aggressive exhaust system and a higher redline compared to the 177HP version found in the LX an LX-P. The EX's automatic transmission also has shorter gearing in 2nd, 3rd and 4th for better acceleration.

It's pretty slow (I counted 8.7 seconds 0 to 60), but it's better than I expected from such a heavy sedan with a small engine. I could probably trim a few tenths by actually launching the car (I just eased into the throttle on this run) and manually shifting at the redline, so I'll probably do that in another video in the future. Please feel free to ask any questions or make any comments. Thanks for watching!

  • @skittleschocolate LX-s is about 200 lb lighter, idk what your sister has, but I've measuered mine a lot of times and it does a 0 to 60 faster than this. I always get 7 seconds flat, which is pretty quick in it's class... Put a real nice intake in it and you'll get 200 hp which is competitive and maybe even faster than a lot of cars like, Si, GTI, and etc..

  • @JuveTube777 they have the EXACT same engine. my sister has the lxs coupe, i have the ex sedan.

  • @NFSINSANE Um, I think "spin[ning] the wheels any time you want" is a much larger waste of money compared to buying a Honda Accord.

  • @gladiatorsworn no not because of CVT its because of the intake and that's why accord gets a way better mpg than altima. if you put a aftermarket intake on the accord it will make it much faster but it will lower its mpg.

  • The 2006-07 Accord was the most beautiful Accord in the history. Unfortunately, the 2008-12 is the ugliest. Why did you change for the worst? I have a 2006 Accord SE 2.4.

  • My EX-L is shit and the Electronic TB on these makes it so you can't even spin tire unless your hard on a corner...I drove an Altima 2.5 the other day and it has less power but can spin the wheels any time you want! Waste of money. Not to mention how horrible the AT's are in these things. I want a Genesis Coupe

  • I find it stupid how theres an 170hp engine and a 190hp engine.

Make all of their 4 cylinders 190hp.

Honda's Accords are being smoked in horsepower by Hyundai's Sonata and Kia's Optima in price anyway.
