Plough Lane sculpture unveiling : (Part 1)
The unveiling of the sculpture to commemorate Wimbledon FCs years at Plough Lane took place Friday, 22nd January, at some point (we don't know exactly) between 12 noon and 1 p.m.
The sculpture stands at the junction of Plough Lane and Durnsford Road. Another sculpture, representing the history of the River Wandle, will also be unveiled on another part of the site.
Everyone is welcome to watch the unveiling, although we expect the proceedings to be very brief.
As is customary on these occasions, refreshments will be provided for a number of invited guests a very small number, since Barratts budgets have been slashed. WISAs own guest list is around a dozen, which has to cover fans who took part in the draw, former players, and some fans who have given input to the sculptor in designing the piece.
We are sorry that so few people can be included in this hospitality, but hope that everyone watching the unveiling will be able to feel that another piece in the recognition of our history as one of Wimbledons most precious community assets has been put in place.
