@lisambofoh They say it was quite good. The show this clip came from was full of silly ideas that got rejected, but this was one of the few that they thought should have been made.

I remember seeing a clip of the head smacking scene. Graham asks a question and Jake says nothing.
Graham: It's alright to speak when spoken to.
Jake: Oh, all right.
[Graham smacks him upside the head]
Graham: Sometimes.

I think it was on Entertainment Tonight just after he's died. They actually did air this pilot once, as a mid-season filler type thing. I recognized the kid from Max Headroom and then (I'm still kicking myself for this) I changed the channel.

Argh! And no-one knew what it was so no-one set the VCR...
I wasn't quite sure if it ever aired at all. I wrote letters to CBS about this, but they didn't even care to respond, the b----rds.
