The media has fictionized this story and in reality the principal no more that "suggested" to her that writing a letter would be a good way to appologize for disrespectful comments. It doesn't matter if the principal "demanded" or "suggested" she apologize. She had no reason to apologize. All she did was express her opinion. The principal cared more about his own image than about her free speech rights.

@lalalavielavie Hell no to the death threats, but saying it was just a "suggestion" doesn't clear him of anything. When gov blowback's cronies came calling, he could have chosen to stand up for his student that he cares about. By "suggesting" she apologize, he essentially told her to give up her rights. Should have never been a suggestion in the first place.

I'm a senior at East and I just want to say how ridiculous it is that Dr. K is being portrayed as the "bad guy" of the story. Nobody ever told Emma that she didn't have the right to say what she wanted. Dr. Krawitz is a GREAT principal who genuinely cares about his students. He did nothing wrong by asking, not demanding, that Emma apologize.

With all the confusion, its hard for people on the outside to understand.

Okay, so here is the thing. Her sister took the tweet to the media and that's how it was brought to their attention. Dr. Krawitz didn't tell her she had to, she suggested it. What makes the media these days is completely pointless, find some real political news.
