UFC Fight Night 17 Predictions - MMA Professor

My picks for this.....guerilla style fight card. That being said, it should be interesting. There are some intriguing fights, and OF COURSE I'll watch it.

Well we were both wrong about it going the distance. Surprised the hell out of me how good tibau looked.

Agreed with all except clementi/tibau. Tibau is basically a jiu jitsu guy only. He has shown some striking, but clementi trains with allan belcher and has shown decent striking in the past. Jiu jitsu both are really good, taibau rides that out. Standing is clementi, wrestling is anyones guess. I got a clementi decision here by not letting tibau get top control, getting the better striking, and possibly some gnp.

For sure, it could definitely go that way. Tibau hasn't showed that much in the UFC, how he cuts to 155 is beyond comprehension. I was thinking Tibau would just outwrestle Clementi by just muscling him around, kind of the way Maynard did.

I can see what your talking about. Tibau has shown good wrestling in his fights, but he seems to do best when he has top position. Tibau is good in wrestling for sure, but I would no way compare him to gray maynard. Although clementi did get taken down alot by gray, he did good by avoiding alot of damage. It could end up being a stalemate jiu jitsu wise. Tibau has improved striking, but clemti trains with alan belcher, and I believe he has the advantage there.

Oh, I was in no way comparing Tibau to Maynard wrestling wise...I was just using that as a way to say that it HAS been done before. Tibau did have an omoplata off his back against Joe Stevenson and got caught with a guillotine when he had top control. I think it's going to a decision either way.
