@TheArchfiend I like Lady GaGa (which says a lot about her talent as she's only one of the three pop artists I've liked in my life) so it's going to be difficult to make this case. Someone writing their own songs isn't that impressive unless they are a good song writer. Ehrin Kruger has written one good film, does this mean he's talented? No, because he's also written what I consider to be some of the worst films ever.

I wasn't making the point of her writing her songs and that they are good because of her writing. I was stating that she's a top pop artist that writes her own music. Period. It is few times and far between that you see ANY top talent in pop music write their own music. The quality there of is subjective.

Sure, she writes her own music...but IT IS NOT ORIGINAL IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM!!! Besides, she's a mockery of art. Throwing in foreign languages such as German and French doesn't instantly make you clever or artistic. She's modeling her entire career off of other past musicians. She makes these atrociously generically-odd videos that are only surprising to people because they haven't any knowledge of music history. She makes fun of ballet in one of her music videos...She doesn't care about art!

And I love how she's trying to convey this whole "Be yourself" message--and be some gay pride symbol...when she herself isn't being herself. She doesn't want to be called Stephanie, her real name, anymore? Huh, that's odd. I love how she makes "songs" like Born This Way, when she's obviously not what she was born as. She was raised a Roman Catholic and rebelled...doesn't make her Madonna; doesn't instantly maker her a musician...God, she's such an attention whore!

She has talent...but she's not using it. She's more focused on being "crazy and different", which gets her more publicity of course. She doesn't care about being an artist. Hell, the only reason she rips off of David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, and Madonna is because she can; because it's music that she could never match-up to; because her fans are predominantly ignorant teenage girls who haven't heard any of the music she rips off of.
