Jeremy Simpson, Vincent Stipo, and Ron Penhall make an attempt for the Summit of San Gorgonio during a two night excursion. Freezing conditions and deep snow bring second thoughts. A flip of a coin's fate can change by common sense.
Roadhog!!! Checkout the video I made! I included a spoof of your video when you said "destination". The video is called San Gorgonio Summit March 2011
I made the San Gorgonio summit and back the same day in early May. Lots of snow above 8000'. 29 deg F. at the top, wind blowing like crazy. No overnight camping. Made it back to my car (Vivian Creek Trailhead) around 23:00 hrs. FUN!
This is the reason i have to pay 100,000 dollars if i need a rescue. Nice 8 pound all cotton german army surplus jacket. I'd say calling this an attempt at summiting is a bit of a stretch, but hey "mountaineers" good job on getting out there at least. Maybe next time buy some decent gear instead of a useless GPS.
