Soilwork entered the studio in January 2010 to record the long-awaited follow-up to 2007's Sworn To A Great Divide. The album will be produced by guitarist Peter Wichers and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Bloodbath). The drums were tracked at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC. The rest of the recording is set to take place in Tampa, FL and the mix at Fascination Street in Orebro, Sweden.

"The Panic Broadcast" will be the first album to feature Peter Wichers since his return to the band in 2008, as well as the studio debut with guitarist Sylvain Coudret (Scarve) who also joined last year.

Sick Drummer Magazine is proud to be the first media outlet to feature anything from the upcoming album, The Panic Broadcast.

  • @sickdrummerdotcom I wonder where his happy place is.

    Hmm.

Must be Dirkland, where every man there is a god at drumming and every woman their voluptuous wives.

  • @SuperColossal33 Dirk belongs in a groove oriented band like soilwork. It gives him much more freedom to improvise and showcase his skills. Stuff like Math metal/prog metal/djent metal/chinese algebra metal, whatever the fuck you want to call it, kind of restrict a drummer from really going crazy like Dirk does with Soilwork. Sure, all that shit is hard to play, but polyrhythms and crazy time signatures get boring after a while. It's much more interesting listening to Dirks playing with Soilwork

  • Off course he isn't high. Cos you can't play this amazing and be high at the same time

  • ke makinaaaa

  • inside of a church???????

  • one of the few metal drummers that has such a sweet groove as well. fuck love this guy.

  • Hey this is Dirk Adler here hahahaha

  • personally I'd like to know what his feet are doing at around 1:00. I'm gonna say paradiddles?

  • The China he's using sounds great. What kind is it, and what size? Thanks

  • soilwork is one of my favourite bands, but dirk is wasting his talent in them.
