@2blackwolfeyes Your advice to take the high road is excellent, thanks. Conflict of interest, as applicable to the C.C. is well covered in the information they send. The jurors are provided with clear information. I would need to read the mission statement of VCD to say if I was in conflict of interest or not. The C.C. does its best to ensure that artists and artistic organizations are judged by their peers.

@bloodandwinearered That's a really good question. As a juror, does 'disdain' or 'distaste' qualify as a conflict of interest? As jurors, probably the high road should be taken, and judgments made solely on the quality of the work. But one's thought process can certainly be tainted. Great question. I'm going to ask around for opinions on that. Thanks.

@2blackwolfeyes Thank you for your reply. Perhaps they do not like Margie because she is from Quebec? Perhaps they wrongfully think they are more talented? Perhaps it is jealously or immaturity? I don't know. But this commenter does tend to make me want to avoid Vancouver City Dance. That's not really a good thing. Does this mean I have to tell the Canada Council that it is a conflict of interest for me to acess them?

@bloodandwinearered I see that someone from 'VancouverCityDance' has left an ill-willed, disrespectful comment on almost every upload of Margie Gillis. They seem to have gone on some sort of rampage of hatefulness. This speaks volumes about the immaturity and complete lack of professionalism of the people involved with this company. Very sad.

@VancouverCityDance lol. I doubt Margie reads these comments. But why so nasty? She is a Canadian dance artist that we are all proud of. She was awarded the order of Canada, and you have nothing to learn. Hummmm, very west coast.
