  • I have just converted to islam and have a huge problem reciting this (I am German, and don't know Arabic, though i'm trying to learn)

I have the transliteration too, and I can't coorelate

is there a way someone could show me step by step how to recite this, as well as know what each word means so i'm not like... you know... just babbling?

    Thanks Guys!

    Allahu Akbar!

  • Asalam Alikum brother, what a wonderful news masha'Allah (Glory be to Allah). Welcome and it is a pleasure to meet you.

For new muslims who find dificulty memorizing Alfatiha, you can recite its meaning until you learn it hopefully as soon as you can. The best thing to do is to visit the closest Mosque or Islamic center and they will help you out, untill then, here is a great web site that has both the english and Arabish text and recitation.

  • thanx brother it is the dua of a person who does not know you personaly that realy counts .

and it is these duas that really matter if only everyone could see but thank you so much it is a plesure to have met you also

  • Salaam brother and sorry I misunderstood you, but the rest of my comment still stands. It is good to meet you I too am not a revert and my first language is Arabic so I am blessed and thankful to Allah for that, and do indeed understand how hard it can get to master a new foreign language, but I pray that Allah will make it easy for you and for all Muslims who are sincere about learning it for the sake of Allah. Salaam!

  • w/salaam thanx brother lol i am not a revert or convert i was born muslim but along the the course of life i withdrew from religion and was overwhelmed by materialistic things buth subhanallah he guides whom he wills even though i cannot read the quran there are certain surahs i have memorised and lay in my heart inshallah i will learn to read the quran when it is the almightys will

  • Salaam brother qool786, it is always nice to meet new Muslim reverts. Arabic is indeed not the easiest of languages, and it does look a bit over whelming for those who are used to Latin-based languages, but like any other language the more you practice the easier/simpler it becomes. The more hardship one face to learn it in order to read and understand the Quran, the more one will be rewarded..

  • mashalla a revert glad tidings to you

allah the seer and knower all seen and unseen he chose the arabian language hard to speak and learn it may be to foriegn tongues but listening to quraan recited in its glory is the most beautiful thing we will experiance in this life

  • brother i was born into a muslim family so basically i should be able to read the holy quraan but i cant and i am trying to learn my self best way is there are lots of clips here on youtube that teach you how to read arabic that would be our first step and to recite like this there are many clips out there that also have the transilation but to recite like this i would recommend to find one by one i mean a clip of a reciter that you realy realy like and listen to over and over again
