On Saturday, December 12th, 2009, the village of Holstein located in Southgate Township, Ontario, Canada held their annual Non-Motorized Santa Claus Parade.
Yes, there are police cruisers at the front and rear of the parade, but theyre only there to protect the animals from traffic. And while its true one ingenious soul figured out a way to include his van, every other Wagon, Carriage or Toboggan was pulled by Horses some large, some small (some VERY small) Dogs, Goats, and one very-suspect Mule.
If you are a local, we'll have DVDs for sale at The Holstein General Store & the Southgate Township Office in the next few days. These DVDs will include an extensive Stills Slideshow from the parade (set to music), and ALL proceeds (every cent) goes to The Egremont & Normanby Christmas Hampers & Emergency Fund, a great organisation that has helped out so many during times of distress.
Hope you enjoy the video and trust you and yours will have a very Happy Holiday.
Can't wait to see this years version. Such a lovely parade!
