  • i quite like the variation on beat 4 of the shuffle as in hh sn sn, instead of hh hh sn, sounds even better in my opinion! great track and great cover!

  • Thanks dave i apprieciate your comment. The variation is basically me just playing it the way i felt it..=)

  • what snare u use ?

  • on this recording it is the Pearl Chad smith signature

  • I'm studying your video (see, you're famous)...your ghost note count appears higher than how (at least I'm interpreting) your explanation...(to me) most of your ghost notes look more like a double stroke than a single stroke... are you using any bounce off the snare (to get a double stroke)?...can you put your playing in L/R notation?...

  • Hey Man...Once again, i apprieciate your interest in my take of rosanna. The best way to understand how im playing this groove is to watch my version of Home At Last by Steely Dan. Its a slower version of exactly what im doing here. But i'll take a shot at trying the notation in a way you'll understand.

RR*RR*R(RL) RR**R*RR*R(RL) ...*=ghost note. (RL) indicates that its a right and left flam. I hope that helps. Best of Luck

  • wow, the first tight cover. Well done!

  • @jasincarlin Hi man Iv been doing this grove for quite some years and think your way is cool..but as fare as snare's goes i had alot of trouble accenting the ghosts to make them stand out alittle more in the early days.. on a crappy pearl piccalo.

Then I bought a 13/5" DW costom and the accents were 100x better...LoL!

  • well done!!!!

  • Great snare sound* I like it.

  • good work nice shuffel

  • I have to agree with you. Its how you feel the song. awesome job btw. this is a hard song. 5/5

  • nice job man !! what snare do you use??

  • Very tight and fluid, I really like it! I doubt i think i can do better at all, check out my cover of rosanna if you feel like it. The rosanna shuffle is a bit tricky haha.
