Part 1

In the Notting Hill riots there were 150 men arrested, 75% white and 60% of those were under 20 years of age. the Police didn't record if people were Teddy Boys or not, however a % of them would have been, but it was the media who said it was Teddy boy gang who rioted so the racist image was formed. You have to remember the Teds were the first UK street culture that shocked the UK, so Teddy Boy became a term for every delinquent on the streets.

Part 2

The Teds fought with everybody, and between each other mostly, but because of media sensationalism they were all considered thugs and racists. A huge chunk of the music teds followed were black or Hispanic, helping to end segregation. and whilst I agree they reflected a racist society, to be a Ted did not mean you were necessary a racist, indeed if that was the case I would not have been born.

I can see how I generalised, so I'm gonna be mature, I was wrong to do that, but you're immature labelling me as some idiot.

The fact stands, Britain had come out of war and were untrusting and prejudiced of foreigners, so Teddy Boys were largely racist. Look at Notting Hill. All subcultures had racists but Teds were rife with them. They are represented by the racists.
