@WellArmed2009 Thanks for the reply. I have no problem with my kid "roughing it up". I was really more concerned with the possibility of neck injuries. They all have underdeveloped necks at that age. But I guess what you are saying is you have never seen a neck injury or paralysis in a 5 year old wrestler.

@jtarakthai : At this age...it's incredibly safe. They aren't strong enough or heavy enough to inflict any real damge. I coach kids at this age...and I have never seen an injury worse than a bruise or bloody nose. Besides..."roughing it up" with other kids is a good character builder. :) Please check out my wrestling video also. I think you can just click my name or something....

At what age can kids start wrestling like this? My son just turned 5 and says he wants to wrestle. I know nothing about the sport. Can someone comment on how safe it is for children this young?

freakin awesomeness!! Totally blew me away that this boy is only 5 years old and is kicking butt better than some grown ass men!! crazy awesome!! He's gunna be a somebody someday!! Good Luck on the future he's a sure bet!! Keep up the hard work son it pays to be naturally talented as you are!! and always remember drugs and alcohol don't mix with sports!! juss had to throw that in there being I'm a counselor!!
