Techno was and is still the generic term! and as time goes by - different styles came out: Trance, Goa, TripHop, Hardcore, House, vocal House, Minimal hOUSE AND SO on. People would also do well to understand that Marcel is considered one of the best at what he does. What he makes wont please everybody but if those who don't like it learned to simply move onto something they do like without bitching then we'd all be better off.

MArcel is in the top 100 dj list. He is there because he has talent as a dj and producer. We should all be so lucky to have his drive and talent.

Now, if you don't like what he makes go listen to some pasty generic beats

People who want to comment about electronic dance music should first understand the topic if they want to be taken seriously. Yes, Marcel Woods has taken a classic track and remixed it. In my opinion he's done a damn fine job. Now here's the rub:  Marcel makes TECH-TRANCE. That's the sub-genre of trance that uses stripped down trance elements over an essentially TECHNO beat/bassline combination. If you listened to more of his stuff you'd realise its his own style
