This is a little video I made for fun testing my Quad core 2006 Mac pro against my brothers freshly built Core i7 vista 64 bit machine.

I know this is not a fair test it was not ment to be it was made for fun.

Oh my Lord... the only difference between the i7 and Xeon CPU's is the ability to run dual CPU's (QPI) and the ability to run ECC RAM.

Xeon's are not faster than i7's. Server's use Xeons because of their ability to run two chips. i7's can run all day long, just like the Xeon.

The guy in this video is at least half tarded. Sending an obviously outdated Mac pro with 2 gb of ram into the ring against a fresh off the line vista machine with 6 gb ram. Are u serious dude? The Mac pro doesn't have a prayer. Post a video of a top of the line Mac pro vs. A top of the line windows 7 PC or STFU!

@kinnis0N ok well i do get your point and i have changed my mine since i have put this comment i do see that most video editers like freddiew or most ppl but i myself am i pc user so i do see that pc is more for gaming and mac is for editing but both can be used as equal only mac my not be able to run the same programs they are great machines

@thrd4me why cant ppl understand that macs are meant to do actual pro work while an average pc is for gaming and surfing... the fact that all hipster noobs buy macs because they are all shiny and all doesnt change the fact that macs target group are pros... so each machine has its own role... even in its basis there are hundreds of different proccesors so a pro might use a xeon proccesor and a gamer will use an i7 proccesor there is no need for someone to pay 3000$ to play crisis and l4d

@calvinchoe100 so alienware that are the best gaming pc's have alienware processors then? GET REAL... the thing that counts is the interior architecture of the unit and the stability of the software in coop with the hardware smthing that most pc's loose after the 1st year whilst mac's dont...and u can try mac os on pc also there is a way but even if it will be faster there will be many probs except if u have spended at least 700$ and taken care of everything....

mac are way far ahead pc's for those who want to do actual work with demanding programs like autocad or so... pc's are for 15 year old kids that the most demanding program they use is warcraft...well i ve been using pc's for a long time and i dont want to go back to an unstable software that 60% of the time all it does is getting me a blue screen...
