It's a tradition that however is simular with your christmas tradition, but with christmas we have other traditions like eat and party with the whole family and the christian things i'm sure you will know..
But with sinterklaas the children get presents from their parents and when they grew up everyone gives a present to an other person.. It's hard to explain but it has nothing with christmas to do
