He didn't throw the fights; he just showed up 4 a payday like Karsten said. He tried to stand & strike denying the fact that his recovery/chin is gone. Ken has acknowledged: hows he's looked, what Kimbo's capable of & what he has to do(strike setups for tkdwns)BUT not enough. He's gotta fight Kimbo like ppl used to fight Mirko, and despite what he's admitted, imo Ken's still apart from reality.
He's a Legend & losing another fight won't take that away. I hope for him. Bring back 1996, Ken.

That's another good point, why is a guy on a 5 fight losing streak getting a fight with Kimbo, a guy with a 3-0 perfect record so far. :P

For business, Elite need$ the name value for viewership badly. On the Sport side its fine. Controversy is Kimbo is headlining & maineventing when he hasn't traditionally earned it creating a hardcore fan outcry for much tougher opponents than usually given to a newb fighter. IMO this duality is met w/ Shamrock. In fact Bas Rutten thinks Ken's too soon for Kimbo, but considering its really Ken vs Kimbo & Ken; imo its fine. Shamrock could've beaten Berry & decisioned Saku but he chose otherwise.

I know he's still a rookie in MMA and his over hype casts a shadow on him, but that said I'd say Shamrock at this point in his career isn't a step up from James, so to me this isn't a steady climb up the ladder. And I think their other guys out there that are still considered steps up that also have name value who Kimbo has a good chance of beating (Butterbean, Don Frye, Dan Severn). Try saying that 3 times fast. :D
