  • @phr4nk3rd00d13 (cont.) is easy. know what the terms mean and you're set. stop spreading weird misconceptions around. obviously, just because you're from a creole-speaking background doesn't mean you know even the linguistic basics about your own language... don't be so arrogant. if you think i'm arrogant, then go ahead and correct me where i need correction. convince me you're right and i'll change my mind. but this is core, basic, definition matter. any good source will agree with me.

"patois" or "patwa" are their own story. it's irrelevant to say "not just Jamaicans speak it." firstly, "patois" is an ambiguous term; i'm replacing it with "creole," a better term... creoles are just a variety of language. it's just a type of language. a classification. so, not just jamaicans speak this particular type of language. okay, and...? you seem to think creoles are one thing that is in variation in different places. no... different pidgins led to different creo

  • pidgin - way of communicating that grows from contact between two people without a common language. basically rule-less. not a language. >as native speakers are born, pidgins develop into a> creole - a stabilised and full language that is derived from a pidgin. patois - a vague term. sometimes used to mean anything considered substandard. also can mean creole or pidgin. that's all those terms really mean. not just jamaicans speak it? jamaicans speak jamaican creole ("jamaican patois"). and other
