    Also the Governement lowered rates from 82 to 2009 (three decades) creating a housing bubble. This cycle happens every 4th decade (1890's, 1930's, 1970's and 2010's) so this recession will last the entire decade.

    FDR's new deal strengthend the US in preparation for the Second World War. The problem was that the Government let banks fail and some cities had 90% of the properties go back to the bank due to 10 year ballon loans. As a result of that amortized 30 year loans were created and Greenspan selected as his successor Ben Bernarke that did his thesis on the Great Depression and would not let banks fail.
