@greenrefrigerator I also recall FHP using those old style single beacon revolving lights. They actually used those things until the the Federal Signal Jetsonic came along. Then they finally got with the times and dumped those old ass beacons they used for years and years.
I guess Michigan puts those stupid ass "STOP" fins on the hood merely for tradition. It's looks completely idiotic but they do it anyway. Waste of money with a dumb appearance . . .

Our towns State Police Post (Ionia Post) has all chargers now. Most have the new LED beacon. They look amazing!

@greenrefrigerator Our State Police have used the beacon light from the beginning. The newer model is a LED beacon. Which can be seen on this mans channel.

Does that ridiculous "shark fin" actually light up?
I thought the Florida Highway Patrol was behind the times back in the late 1970's for using single beacon roof lights back then. Here we are in 2011 and Michigan is STILL using them (not this particular car but their regular fleet does).
To each their own I guess . . .
