Thank you sooo much for posting this. I'm an English rider so the last bit wasn't important to me but the same basic principals apply for all disciplines. I'm training a hunter/jumper gelding with a really sweet, calm, and willing to please personality and this was just what I needed to hear. But I think your horse should have been walking, he was breathing really hard.
@eXHorses I hate to say that the horse I was training (belonging to my riding instructor) was sent away without letting me really start riding him. I'd walked around on him twice with a couple little trots but thats it :(
