Been dancing 5-6 years now, cannot master the toe walks.!

i've been dancing for almost three years and i can't do toe walks yet i can do rocks but i'm terrible at them - i have dyspraxia. i can do them properly between two chairs. you are very good

your shoes are a little too broken in (i know that sounds weird) but that's how injuries happen. your foot shouldn't be bending as much as it is when you're on your blocks

It shouldn't matter if you're on carpet or not. Your rocks were indeed good. With the toe walks, perhaps you should mention that there is an age limit at which they are allowed in competition. Also, turn out when your on tips! Your feet looked a little straight and that is when people break ankles.

Thanks! I only got my hard shoes a few days ago so they'll need some breaking in! Your advice was good.

I just got hard shoes and I was wondering what techniques you used to be able to rock and toe-walk? Any help would be really appreciated- you're good!
@bingowasmyname You really have to be careful, at the beginning. For the rocks, its just a balance thing. Its hard to explain with words but its more an optical effect than a muscle thing. Its easier with soft shoes, but its basicly the same thing. And for your toe walk, when youll feel very comfortable in your hard shoes (I mean, when theyll be well broken) try doing pointes, but grab something, like a table or a chair, just in case. Good Luck
